Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know.

WriteForge is an AI-assisted writing SaaS platform. It supports every type of writing — fiction, non-fiction, academic, technical, editorial — from the initial idea to a print-ready file. It includes a professional editor, contextual AI assistance, a handwritten manuscript scanner, and export in professional formats.
WriteForge is designed for writers, authors, academics, journalists, copywriters, students, researchers, professional editors, and anyone who works with text. Whether you're writing a novel, a thesis, a technical manual, or a cookbook, WriteForge assists you at every stage of the creative process.
WriteForge supports 7 categories and over 40 writing types: Fiction (novel, short story, screenplay, graphic novel), Non-Fiction (memoir, biography, reportage), Academic (paper, thesis, literature review), Technical (documentation, white paper, business plan), Editorial Products (guides, cookbooks, manuals), Content & Communication (blog, newsletter, speech), and Personal Writing (journal, letters, narrative CV).
Your content is your exclusive property. WriteForge does not acquire any rights over your texts and does not use them to train AI models. Data is protected with encryption and regular backups. You can export and delete your projects at any time.
WriteForge's AI is contextualized through the Bible Engine: it knows your characters, plot, style, and sources. It can help you brainstorm, generate narrative structures, create chapter drafts, suggest inline improvements, and rewrite passages. Each interaction consumes credits based on request complexity.
The Bible Engine is the heart of WriteForge. It automatically compiles a structured context (in JSON format) containing everything the AI needs to know about your project: characters, settings, timeline, style, world rules, sources. This context is injected into every AI call, ensuring consistency even in the longest and most complex projects.
Yes, the Scanner module uses AI vision (Claude Vision) to read handwriting from photos of your manuscripts. It distinguishes different handwriting styles, preserves margin notes and deletions, and produces clean text that you can verify side-by-side with the original image before importing as a project.
WriteForge supports export in 9 professional formats: DOCX (Microsoft Word), PDF, EPUB (eBook), Markdown, HTML, LaTeX (academic), Fountain (screenplays), BibTeX (bibliographies), and plain text. Advanced formats like IDML (InDesign) and PDF/X-4 (professional print) are under development.
Upload an existing manuscript (DOCX, PDF, or text) and the reviewer analyzes it across 8 independent layers: structure, coherence, style, pacing, characters/entities, language, argumentation, and completeness. Each issue is classified by severity with improvement suggestions. You can also ask the AI to rewrite problematic passages.
Yes! The Starter plan is completely free and includes up to 2 projects, the full editor, DOCX and PDF export, and citation management. For advanced AI features, more projects, and additional export formats, Writer and Professional plans are available.
AI credits are the unit of measurement for AI interactions. Each AI action (brainstorming, draft generation, suggestions, rewriting, analysis) consumes a variable number of credits based on complexity. Monthly credits renew with the subscription and do not roll over. You can also purchase additional credit packages.
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Upgrades are immediate with prorated billing. Downgrades or cancellations take effect at the end of the current period, maintaining access until expiration. There are no cancellation penalties.
Yes. WriteForge automatically saves every change to your chapters. You can access the version history, compare differences between revisions, and restore any previous version with one click.
Yes. You can invite editors, co-authors, or beta readers to your projects with differentiated roles. Collaborators can leave inline comments and edit simultaneously. Each participant only sees the projects they have been invited to.
Yes. WriteForge offers 12 curated templates for each writing category: novel, essay, thesis, technical documentation, and more. Each template includes pre-built structure, sections, and style profile. Just pick a template and start writing with a professional structure ready to go.
Yes. WriteForge supports chapter-by-chapter translation with smart context. The AI translates while maintaining consistency of characters, terminology, and style thanks to project data. Each translation becomes a linked project you can edit independently. Costs are charged in AI credits per translated chapter.
Absolutely! Songwriting is WriteForge's eighth writing category, with 5 dedicated types: song lyrics, advertising jingles, rap/hip-hop lyrics, opera librettos, and musicals. You have 3 specialized structural frameworks — Verse-Chorus-Bridge (11 phases), AABA Form (6 phases), and Rap Structure (9 phases) — guiding you from first idea to finished lyrics. The AI assists with rhyme, meter, singability, and thematic coherence.
